Amg. It's been so long. It seems as though everyone has migrated from LJ. It was nice while it lasted. I mostly came to post about The Unraveling. It's very nice, but feels like a long single more than anything, rather than an EP. The covers are good, a bit smarting in their difference (and sometimes lack of difference) but they're still rather good. Good guy DEG must have not thought their longest song was long enough. 16 minutes. Macabre is 16 minutes long. These guys. Ah. And 10:50 to 12:50. Pure fucking magic. I wish they would have made a new song from that. I can't get it out of my head. I really like Unraveling as well. BotDV is nice, though more subdued that I expected. Cracks me up that Kyo is still saying "My Shista". So cute.
At any rate. Not much to say I guess. Cheers.
P.S. Wow, my sticky post expired.
Going to Kyoto tomorrow, *deep breaths*
Dir en Grey tomorrow, then two days in Osaka a day after that. aajshkajhds
Hoping for amazing set-lists. The other half of Dum Spiro Spero would be amazing.
Shinkansen tickets are expensive.
Going to the Tokyo Film Festival tonight, should be awesome!
Japan is Japan.
Fuck you, tumblr. Fuck you so hard.
^ Guess who found another web site to spend way too much time on.
My shitty Zune BG edits keep popping up on my dashboard thingy. How do people... IDEK. Tumblr is such a potential-less circle jerk IDE.
At any rate. Are you guys on it too? :[
Join me, y/y?
AskMrProphet is pretty adorable, I must say. So is regards-draco.
DIR EN GREY IN 19 DAYS!
Shit's going to be legit.
I'm scared. Must practice Kansai-ben for ありがとう and すみません。
If you didn't know, sumimasen is the staple of Japanese language. If there's one word you should know, it's that one.
So now you know.
I'm having a bit of a hard time in Japan right now. Of course the one thing I would look forward to the most is the one thing that gets fucked up. I'm a member of aknot. I used Mukunoki's service because I knew I'd eventually want to buy tickets. As soon as Age Quod Agis was announced, I applied for aknot tickets to all of the aknot lives. Oddly enough, Mukunoki replied saying that my aknot membership had expired in January. I was the epitome of "WTF?!" I had only just become a member in the October before. I was so fucking confused, and thought I had missed something huge in signing up to become a member. Did it only last 6 months, not a year, or... I had no idea. At the time, I totally forgot that every fucking thing you get from aknot has your member expiration on it. I tried to explain to Muku that there was no way my membership expired already... but he didn't get it. By the time I realized I had a picture to correct him, he'd totally forgotten about the matter, and replied "Yeah, it expires in October!" I was beyond fuming. I'd missed everything, because of him and the fact that my arrival in Japan was at an awkward time between normal ticket sales. So all of the first leg was sold out by the time I had a Japanese address, and the second leg was just going on sale when I had no fucking idea how to buy tickets yet. I managed on my own to buy 2 Nanba Hatch tickets and one for Biwako Hall in Oosaka, but even the day after they went on sale they were super fucking bad tickets. So I was like hey, Mukunoki, can you help me buy this Club Citta ticket? It's a good one, I'll pay loads for it! (#100). The auction was buy it now and didn't end for 7 hours. He replied saying he missed it, did I want another one (with a link to a new ticket). It sucked, so I said no, and asked for a different one. Couldn't do that one either, so he proferred a final one, a ticket he says is #300 for ¥25000, so I said yes. I get the ticket in the mail, low and behold the ticket is #1184! Isn't that fucking awesome! With service fees, I spent $420 on a ticket in the fucking boonies! Hot damn. This shit is the best.

A month out on DSS, songs in order of likeness. I think. Close enough. I LOVE THIS ALBUM.

- Shitataru Mourou
- Hageshisa (album version)
- Decayed Crow
I don't really know how to place Akatsuki, Vanitas, and Diabolos. I was obsessed with Akatsuki from the beginning, but... Vanitas and Diabolos... they're tied.
Honorable Mention: Amon Symphonic Version & Rasetsukoku (though I like the remixes as well)
Almost had a heart attack in Akihabara today after I saw a Kaoru-resembling man beside vending machines outside Yodobashi. He was total Kaoru-chic, wallet chain, hair, jeans, disposition, fancy boots, Loud Park shirt. Freaked me the fuck out.
Found quite a few DEG-graced magazines on the shelves in Yodobashi, I haven't had much luck at Book Off. I bought a good-looking copy of Missa and an untouched copy of Macabre while I was there, then a new copy of Kisou and Amon at Tower Records. Ripped them lossless, fucking beautiful.
My 7D decided to break at LAX, so I've spent the last few days in Tokyo without a camera. It's rather absurd. I imagine I'd have taken thousands of pictures by now. Luckily, the folks at the Shinjuku Canon repair shop are incredibly awesome :) The second leg of Age Quod Agis goes on sale in a few days. *crosses fingers* Can't fuck this up.
Different Sense is the shittttt. Dum Spiro Spero in 17 Days. Japan in 39 days. For three months.
Shizuoka, please don't sell out! I'm going to try for the Namba Hatch and Shinkiba lives, as well. Hopefully I'll be 7-11-savvy enough to be able to buy tickets on my own.
CAN'T GO TO ANY AKNOT LIVES 'CAUSE MUKUNOKI FUCKED ME OVER.
Or can I...
I wonder if aknot lives would warrant the trip to Kyoto (and possible missed classes).
And when I get back, Dir en Grey in the states. Sweet ass X-mas presents.
Dir en Grey live @ the Grand Ballroom, SF
Dir en Grey live @ the House of Blues, LA
I'd go go more venues, but the nearest is Colorado... This shit is like deja vu, though, I've probed both venues thoroughly... very thoroughly.
aksjhakdjhf I can't wait for DSS. I refuse to listen to the amazon previews, but. Shits going to be hardcore.
Why am I writing like this?
I should sleep, but I don't want to. Life is odd at the moment. Right before it is decided whether or not I am able to study abroad in Japan for a year, this happens. It's horrible. Utterly horrible. The university I planned to extend to for the Spring semester, Touhoku Daigaku (東北大学) is right in the dead spot of the Miyagi prefecture, right on the coast where the tsunami hit. I have no idea what the state of the university is, they haven't updated... but ICU, just southwest of Tokyo, the uni I'd be going to in late August... well, everything is so uncertain, but I will find out soon. Everything is in order as far as the application goes... except for the bloody passport photos. They issue as 2x2inches, then the app asks for 3x4cm cuts that show just above hair, and the tops of shoulders? How could something so simple be so difficult. I can write a 7-page statement of purpose, but I can't cut jakhkdhfhkdhf photos eww. Anyway. Now, all there is to do is wait. Wait. Always waiting.
The love of my life is moving to Connecticut in June, because I'm going to Japan... temporarily. This doesn't make much sense.
For the state of my crumbling love life, I offer a poem:
Hey, it's raining.Where I End and You Begin, The Sky is Falling In( Poem-ey Poem Poem About ThingsCollapse )
On an even more
fun note, I spent $1500 on the Canon 7D
, and I feel as if I'm in a photographic rut. It might be stress, but, I kind of like this photo: (click)
though there will surely, SURELY, be better. Soon,
soon I will climb from this blackened earth, into the diffident light
Don't pray for Japan, do shit.
Subject: To Kyo-san
Probably a lot have questioned this but I am very curious so please tell me! Was there a reason or change of heart to why you changed your hairstyle?
Kyo: There's not really a deep meaning. Not because of how it looks but it's because my thoughts/ideology/philosophy is leaning towards somewhere a bit more spiritual.
MY WORST NIGHTMARE, IT'S COMIJGELRHGLWHERLUHGHWUHHUUG---
Do you believe society will ever truly overcome racism?
No. Even when the human race has become so assimilated that there is little to no variation, there will still be discrimination according to other physical characteristics... especially sexual orientation. But those don't really count as racism, technically. So maybe. Technically.
